MOLETE (IBADAN) MEDICAL OUTREACH
The Molete, Ibadan special evangelical outreach was a successful one. As common to Wholistic Outreach, the medical outreach was organized to reach out to the victims of girl-child abuse/prostitution and trafficking, and provide an escape route for them. Therefore the major targeted beneficiaries of Molete special outreach were the Commercial Sex Workers at Asas Brothel, Molete, Ibadan, Oyo State. The theme of the life-changing outreach was “Better Days Ahead”. During the outreach the ministry provided free medical services such as; General medical counseling, Voluntary HIV/AIDS counseling, Hepatitis B & C test, Malaria test, and other general Health issues.
The outreach took place on 19th Nov., 2020 at RCCG, Glorious Parish, 19, College Crescent, Molete, Ibadan, Oyo State. Apart from the main targeted beneficiaries, the people of Molete community also benefited from the program.
At the end of the program One Hundred and Seventy-Four (174) people benefited from one service or the other, Forty-one (41) surrendered their lives to Jesus Christ during altar call out of which Fourteen were from the brothel, while we have a total number of Sixty-three (63) people on our new converts list for follow-up.
SPECIFIC RESULTS:
- Souls were won for Christ
- We provided free voluntary counseling and testing on HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis B & C, Blood Sugar and Malaria Test, eye tests and eye glasses, general medical counseling and drugs on common ailments.
- Total No of Beneficiaries: 174 (One Hundred and Seventy-Four) – 150 from the church, 24 from brothel
- Total No of New Converts: 63 (Sixty-three) – 49 from the church, 14 from brothel.
We used two centres during the outreach program; one centre at the church premises and the other centre at the brothel premises. This is because the brothel manager disallowed the CSWs from coming to the church. However, we thank God because, even the brothel manager gave his live to Jesus Christ during the program.
